Current Practice.

I work with adults, young people, children and couples.

I use various models of working including CBT, Short Term Focussed Counselling, Psychodynamic Counselling, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Mindfulness.


In my Independent Practice, clients are often self-referred.

Referrals also come from HR or Occupational Health Departments, from EAPs and from Insurance Companies.

Clients have also been referred by GPs and Ministers of Religion.

Corporate employers have also referred employees to me.

Organisations and Charities have requested training days.

As a Trauma Specialist , I have been asked to attend Critical Incidents to provide support.

I work part-time as an on-site counsellor for a large industrial organisation.


History.

I have worked in a University Student Counselling Service and for a GP Practice comprising five doctors.

I have also counselled adults in mental health settings and worked for a number of years in a Hospice setting.

For many years I worked as a telephone counsellor and Senior Case Manager for EAPs (Employee Assistance Programmes).

Supervision and Training.

I supervise counsellors in private practice and agency counsellors.

As a qualified teacher, I have trained counsellors and interested groups on counselling subjects, and have assisted people with their B.A.C.P. Registration/Accreditation.

I abide by the Guidelines and Code of Ethics of the BACP and am subject to their complaints procedures. BACP
